A brand new mod just dropped over on Nexus that’s looking to combine Batman: Arkham Knight with the visual flair of Borderlands, and honestly it’s just making me miss Batman Beyond.
Anime Reshade is a freshly released mod for Batman: Arkham Knight by mod author solarlord, and I think it’s fair to say that it does exactly what it says it does on the tin.
It’s a reshade present mod that essentially overhauls the entire visual look of the game, which, naturally, looks best when you’re wearing one very specific suit.

Although the mod is called “Anime Reshade”, it’s pretty clear that they’re specifically referring to Batman Beyond here. I mean they do specifically note that it “makes the game like the animated series” in the mod description, so I don’t think they’re trying to hide that.
That being said, I think it looks way closed to a Borderlands preset shader than anything else. I know it’s easy to see any kind of cel-shaded preset mod and immediately label it as a Borderlands mod, but this one really takes the cake.
If you’re curious and you want to see more before you commit to downloading the shader, then luckily for you the mod author has uploaded a three-hour playthrough of the Batman: Arkham Knight mod to YouTube.
Plus, you get to listen to what the cast of the game sounds like in Spanish. Unsurprisingly, Spanish Bruce Wayne sounds about as awesome as you’d expect.

Watching it does make me wish that Batman Beyond would make a comeback sometime down the line though. DC really are just sitting on one of the coolest superhero spin-offs of all time and doing basically nothing with it.
Here’s hoping there’s a chance that Terry McGinnis might show up in James Gunn’s DCU films somewhere down the line.
