The Witcher 3 is already a massive, brilliant game featuring hundreds of quests, NPCs, and items to discover. But what if it got bigger?
It seems that modding tools have finally made their way to Steam set to unleash a wave of new content made by talented creators across the world.
The Witcher 3 is set to get even bigger now mod tools are in the hands of creators
PC gaming wouldn’t be what it is today without mods. In fact, gaming would be a poorer industry without mods. It’s where a lot of creators get started and some of gaming’s biggest genres have started as mods.

Modding allows anyone to create material for The Witcher 3, so we can expect new quests, strange and unique characters, powerful weapons, intriguing items, and much more.
The tools are currently in beta, but it’s easy to sign up for testing. All you need is a copy of The Witcher 3 on Steam and you’ll be able to request access directly through its own page. According to some sources, CD Projekt Red is quickly accepting people and it’s completely free.
CDPR has commented on the tools saying they are “based on the same set of tools that were used by our developers to create the game and should allow for nearly limitless freedom in modding it.”
This now allows for limitless potential. Creators can embrace the books the series is based on and create new quests for Geralt based on the material; we might see all new creatures hunted; and of course, Thomas the Tank Engine is bound to show up at some point.

Suddenly, a massive game can get even bigger and CDPR believes we’ll see “[new] characters to developing animations, entire storylines, and new territories.”
The possibilities are endless and ongoing. We’ll be sure to bring you the best selection of mods once they start flooding in.
