Tom Hardy has shared a first glimpse at the in-development Venom 3, along with a pretty strong hint that this is the actor's final outing as the classic antihero.
Hardy, who played Eddie Brock/Venom in 2018's Venom and 2021's Venom: Let There Be Carnage (plus a brief cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home) confirmed on social media that he's currently working on the script for the third movie in the trilogy alongside Kelly Marcel. Marcel also worked on last year's Venom adventure with Hardy.
While it's worth noting that the script Hardy shared doesn't specifically have the word "Venom" on it anywhere, the doodle of a ravenous symbiote alongside the number "3" makes it pretty clear what he's getting at.

Hardy later shared the image as an Instagram Story, tagging Sony Pictures alongside a GIF that says "LAST DANCE". While this could mean any number of things, fans believe Hardy is teasing his final appearance as Venom.
If this is Hardy's final outing as Venom, we'd certainly hope that the third movie finally gives us what we've been waiting for: a showdown with Tom Holland's Spider-Man. Both Let There Be Carnage and No Way Home teased a connection between the two characters while cruelly stopping short of an actual meeting. Given that the first sequel already gave us Carnage, it's time for Venom to face his other greatest enemy. If nothing else, I'd like a break from watching symbiotes fight symbiotes, wouldn't you?
