The release of The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power is just one week away. Whilst fans were divided over the music choice of the show’s most recent trailer, reviews promise that we’re in for a treat. Critics particularly praised The Rings Of Power’s scope, cinematography and high production value. In the meantime though, one fan has unearthed an unreleased scene from the original film trilogy.

Check out the latest trailer for The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power below.

YouTube user Bagus Arda uploaded the unreleased scene to the site, which would’ve been part of The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King had it not been cut. The scene shows Aragorn fighting Sauron during the film’s climactic battle, with Bagus Arda editing the scene to slot back into where it presumably would’ve fallen in the original screenplay.

The scene in question is pretty cool and fans are always going to be excited for a bit of extra Sauron content but let’s be honest, the film is perfect as it is. Still, fans flocked to the comments to share their thoughts. Take a look at the scene below.

Dr SotoFreak wrote, “Oh my god. I got chills for five minutes straight,” whilst Hobbes added, “I wish they'd kept it at least as a vision or nightmare for Aragron.” On the other hand, Ocensayre said, “Cutting this was the right decision. Tolkien’s focus on the book here wasn’t on Aragorn, and although Sauron had by this time regained physical form in the books, the movie already specifically said that he cannot do it yet. Much of the point of destroying the ring in the movie is to prevent just that.” Whatever side you fall on, it’s interesting to see what could’ve been.
