In case you missed it, in late October, Naughty Dog fans got understandably excited when a job listing surfaced online at a “new PlayStation studio”, which is currently “co-developing an exciting new project with Naughty Dog in a beloved franchise”.
People immediately began speculating about what this so-called “beloved franchise” and “new project” might be, and a popular theory was that it might be a new Uncharted game. Now, according to a new report from The Leak, this is looking increasingly likely.
The Uncharted movie which released earlier this year didn’t exactly go down too well, so fingers crossed that The Last of Us show will fare a bit better - take a look at the trailer below.
The Leak claims that, according to two independent sources, Uncharted is going to be getting a reboot. Reportedly, Sony made the decision to reboot it earlier this year, and has handed over its precious child to an unknown developer who will apparently be assisted by Naughty Dog - initially, at least.

According to the report, the reboot is early in development and isn’t expected to be shown or teased any time soon, so don’t get your hopes up for an imminent trailer reveal. It’s also totally unknown what direction the reboot could take - The Leak suggests that it could follow an entirely new character or simply de-age Nathan Drake, which would be an interesting concept. It was suggested that Nate was supposed to be around 25 in the Uncharted movie which released back in February (thanks, Screen Rant), so perhaps there could be some sort of link to that? This is pure speculation, however.
At the time of writing, the reboot hasn’t been officially confirmed by Sony, so do take all this with a generous pinch of salt for now. That said, thanks to that recent job listing, we can still look forward to something related to one of Naughty Dog’s fan-favourite franchises releasing sometime in the future.
