The Boys Season 4 quietly brought back series' best character, but you probably didn't notice

The Boys season four is finally here and despite mixed reviews for its newest season, fans still appreciated a brief cameo from the series’ best character.

After a brief hiatus, Amazon Prime’s The Boys is back and wilder than ever. Telling the story of rogue superheroes who don’t act very heroic, the adult black-comedy drama is based on the comic book series with the same name.

Check out the season four trailer for The Boys below!

First airing in 2019 and being met with critical acclaim, its fourth season is currently airing but with many fans criticising its eagerness for shock value over a good narrative, it seems as though the series is running out of steam. Not so good when a fifth season has already been confirmed.

From devastating deaths to a gruesome twist, The Boys season four is already making the headlines but its latest episode featured a far more wholesome moment that is shown so briefly that you probably missed it.

During a scene where Ryan finds a present from Butcher on the set of his Vought Christmas special, he unwraps it to discover a framed photo of Butcher and Rebecca together.

However, if you cast your eyes to the right you will see a much-loved character from The Boys: Terror the Dog.

It has been two full seasons since viewers saw Terror and despite being a staple of the comic books, he has hardly shown up in the television adaptation. However, this is due to “a boring and practical” reason according to series creator Eric Kripke.

"We got that dog based on its ability to hump on command and if you notice in the episode, not once does it do it because it wouldn't, of course, because it's a dog and dogs don't take direction," he revealed.

"Terror is a star but a really inconsiderate diva. I just saw the endless amount of frustrated dailies, hours and hours of footage of the dog just sitting there and people trying to cajole it to do something that he doesn't want to do."

Well, at least we got to see a photograph of him!
