We’re getting closer and closer to Stranger Things season five and we all want to know several things: Who will die? Will Hawkins be saved? How will they pass off these adults as children?
Of course, the ensemble of actors has been squirrelled away by Netflix to shoot the latest season of the hit show, however, one cast member won’t be returning.
Netflix dropped a first look at Stranger Things 5 a while back and we're eagerly awaiting a trailer
Catherine Curtin, who played Dustin’s mother, Claudia Henderson, will not appear in the latest and last season of the show.

According to the actress who was interviewed on an episode of Monday Morning Critic Podcast, she was instead shooting the film Saturday Night, which tells the story of the debut of Saturday Night Live in 1975.
On the show she mentioned, “No, no, I went off and did SNL 1975. I’m not a part of the Stranger Things season five, but I have interacted with a few of those guys.”
Fans of the show will remember her role fondly as an overbearing, if sweet, mother to Dustin. Whether there was a big role for her in the new season or not, it’s hard to know. She wasn’t a huge part of previous seasons, aside from odd moments of humour.
The interview continues, “What I’m told is that it’s kind of amazing and that they work their butts off and that it’s brilliant. And I think it will not disappoint.”

While past seasons have introduced wider families of the kids from Hawkins, it’s not a surprise that some would take a backseat.
After all, this new season is the final chapter where everything comes to boiling point and the focus will naturally shift to the kids and their battle against evil.
However, if there is a happy ending, it would have been nice for Dustin’s mother to be there for him.
