It’s been a year since Darth Plagueis made his live action debut in Star Wars, and now fans are being urged to check out this prequel featuring him front and centre.
A year ago, Darth Plagueis appeared for the first time in a live-action Star Wars joint, appearing briefly in an episode of The Acolyte.
Although this was the first time the character physically appeared on-screen, he’s been referenced several times in earlier Star Wars releases, and even had his own prequel novel.
Now, The Acolyte fans are being urged to check out this prequel. It’s probably the best material featuring Darth Plagueis, and really dives into his backstory.

It’s a Legends book, which is Lucasfilm’s shorthand for the novels, comics, and video games that are no longer canon following the acquisition by Disney.
However, that shouldn’t stop you from checking the book out. While it’s no longer canon to the main Star Wars universe, that doesn’t mean it isn’t a good story.
There are also aspects of the book that became the basis for plot details in The Acolyte, so fans of the show should enjoy it.
Originally published in 2012 and written by James Luceno, Star Wars: Darth Plagueis features the titular Sith Lord and his apprentice, Darth Sidious, as they target the Jedi Order for annihilation so they can rule the galaxy.

The recommendation was made over on X (formerly Twitter) by user InterGavin: “Anyone who wants to learn anything about Darth Plagueis, pick up the Legends novel by James Luceno. You won't regret it.”
“Luceno is one of the better writers,” reads one of the replies to the post. “Loved this book.”
Another user added: “Just finished the audio book of this as I’m getting way more into Star Wars lately and its f***ing awesome and the more I research the more I realise Legends is way better than whatever Disney has going on now.”
Be sure to check out Star Wars: Darth Plagueis if you’re a fan of The Acolyte.
