According to a few people who attended the Los Angeles Comic Con this weekend, Ewan McGregor shared a few details regarding Obi-Wan’s next appearance in Disney’s Star Wars universe.

Jamie Jirak, who has been covering the announcements at LACC on Twitter, McGregor just straight up confirmed that the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi will be getting a second season.

“Ewan McGregor says they’re "exploring" ideas for Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2,” stated Jirak’s post, “and he wants to wear the Clone Wars armor and do more flashbacks with Hayden Christensen. The crowd went INSANE. #LACC”

This news comes off the back of an interview McGregor and Christensen had with Variety last month, where McGregor stated that he hoped the two actors would “get a chance to do another one” together when referring to his future within the Star Wars franchise.

As always with this kind of stuff, it’s hard to tell if the interview informed Disney’s decision to move forward with a second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi, or if McGregor was simply not allowed to announce anything specific when he last spoke about it.

Also, I sort of can’t really see a follow-up to Obi-Wan Kenobi’s ending, especially one that would feature Darth Vader.

It very much felt like it was supposed to be a sort of one-and-done kind of show, with everything wrapping up in a very neat and tidy way during its final episode.

Having Vader and Kenobi engage in some sort of big, grand fight again would just end up feeling like much of the same the second time around.

All that being said, Obi-Wan Kenobi was apparently the most streamed TV show for two whole weeks, and Disney does love money. Ultimately, whatever season 2 ends up being, I’m just glad that Ewan and Hayden get to hang out some more.

Getting Disney to pay you and your mate mess about on the set of a multi-million dollar TV show is something I wholeheartedly support.
