Star Wars fans have long wondered when Cal Kestis, the popular protagonist in Star Wars Jedi, would become a live-action component of the franchise.

However, there’s been no official sign from LucasFilms that this would happen.

Officially speaking, there’s still no confirmation of this. That being said, an industry insider claims that Cal is ready to make his live-action debut.

Fan Accurate_Double7652 shared the details on r/StarWars, citing an article from Fiction Horizon.

According to that source, Daniel Richtman, arguably a name you’re familiar with by now, posted on his Patreon about this Star Wars development.

Due to his Patreon being behind a paywall, we can’t confirm these details for ourselves.

Nonetheless, it’s purported that Richtman said that LucasFilms is, in fact, planning for Cal to join a live-action project.

Whether this is for a film or series remains unclear at this time, assuming Richtman’s intel is good.

Putting concerns over legitimacy to rest for the moment, the fandom is primarily concerned about who will play Cal.

The majority want to see Cal’s Star Wars Jedi actor, Cameron Monaghan, reprise the role.

Not only is he “perfect” for the part, but some fans believe the games purposefully made the characters look like their actors for a reason.

Could the reason be that LucasFilms always intended to use the actors in a live-action project? Possibly.

There’s then the matter of whether Cal will be the lead in this project or a cameo.

“They can still tell his story in the games only and use Cal as a supporting character in someone else's story. Preferably a new story with new main characters with Cal along for the ride,” suggested one Redditor.

Others are mostly worried that a live-action debut will “dilute” the storytelling of the games.

It’s clear that if Richtman’s claims are genuine, Cal turning into a live-action character is something the fandom is interested in, but needs further details before committing one way or the other.
