The world of Star Wars may start to look very different over the coming years following the announcement that Kathleen Kennedy, long-time Lucasfilm boss, is reportedly stepping down from the role.
Kennedy has been leading the charge for many years, overseeing a great deal of recent Star Wars output.
Kathleen Kennedy oversaw all recent modern Star Wars stories for Lucasfilm.
Of course, this brings up the question - who will steer the ship over the coming years?

There are a few options, with Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni leading the charge, and fans are torn on who they think will bring out the best for the franchise.
Over on Reddit, Star Wars fans are discussing the options.
One fan believes we’ll get news of the replacement in April, as they say, “TBF, I think they will probably announce her successor at [Star Wars] Celebration.”
This could mean we won’t be waiting long, but who do fans want to see take on the role?

This Redditor doesn’t want Filoni in the job, but not for the reasons you might think: “Dave would not be a good pick for this job, and I hope for his sake he doesn't get it. A creative would not thrive in this position at all.”
JackMorelli13 thinks that someone should pair with Filoni, saying, “I can definitely picture them doing the DC Studios thing with Filoni paired with someone else.”
It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Jon Favreau step up; he has been pivotal in the Star Wars universe for years, and is used to the limelight as a lead creator.
Dogsinabathtub is thinking that might be the best idea, commenting, “The obvious choice is Favreau with Filoni in some senior role.”

Another Redditor is in agreement, echoing Dogsinabathtub, “Lucasfilm needs leadership similar to how Peter Safran and James Gunn lead DC Studios: One person who deals with the business side of things, assembling talent (behind the camera) and making productions actually work.”
We’ll likely get confirmation in April as Star Wars goes to Japan to celebrate everything past, present and future for the series.
