When Prey arrived on Disney+ and Hulu in 2022, it quickly became a success story that many would not have expected.
Set in the Northern Great Plains of the now United States of America in 1719, Prey is a prequel to the popular Predator movies starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny Glover. Prey had scored 71 from critics and 6.3 from users on Metacritic, which doesn't do the movie justice, in my opinion.

However, Prey did score more favourably on Rotten Tomatoes with 94% from critics and 73% from the audience, making it the best-reviewed Predator movie of all time.

Directed by Dan Trachtenberg, written by Patrick Aison and starring Amber Midthunder, Prey tells the tale of a: “skilled Comanche warrior protects her tribe from a highly evolved alien predator that hunts humans for sport, fighting against the wilderness, dangerous colonisers and this mysterious creature to keep her people safe.”
Up until this point, we’ve not heard much about a potential Prey sequel. That being said, without giving too much away, artwork in the post-credits did hint at the possibility of a follow-up and it seems that the teased Prey sequel may be in the works.
As reported by our friends at LADbible, during a recent interview with The Playlist, director Trachtenberg hinted at the possibility of a sequel. “I can’t really say anything about that right now, but I’ll say while we were finishing the movie, we were having really exciting conversations,” he said when asked about Prey 2.
“The studio, myself, the writer, and the producers about what crazy things we could do next,” he continued. “And I’ve never stopped, no one stopped thinking about how cool things could be going forward.”

Hopefully, Prey will get the sequel it deserves, because it’s a tale that certainly has plenty more story to tell. We’ll keep you posted if we hear of any further updates.
