The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will swing its way onto Disney+, after being tangled in a web of rights issues for years.
Disney+ has become a haven for Spider-Man fans, if you’re in the US or have a VPN, collecting the films and classic TV shows that made us all fall in love with the wallcrawler.
Check out the trailer for the upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 game, which launches later this year for PS5.
While you could happily peruse Tom Holland’s latest, and potentially last, MCU adventures, Tobey Maguire’s trilogy and several spin-offs like Venom and Into The Spider-Verse, one webhead has been missing one of their films, Andrew Garfield’s Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Despite not being the best spidey film out there, thanks to quite a boring plot, too many villains and some questionable performances, it still has its fans. Recently, Andrew Garfield’s iteration of Spider-Man received an outpouring of love and support, mainly due to his appearance and redemption in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Some fans are even demanding that Sony make The Amazing Spider-Man 3 to cap off the planned trilogy, going so far as to launch a petition which is slowly racking up signatures.
Now, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will join the Disney+ offering, joining the subscription service on 11th August. The reason it’s taken so long is that the distribution rights were wrapped up elsewhere, preventing the Sony film from joining the others.
It’s not the only Spider-Man film missing though, as fans are reportedly still waiting for Spider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: No Way Home, as well as the second Venom film and of course, the highly requested Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse.
Oddly enough the UK version of Disney+ has no Spider-Man films at all at the time of writing. They were definitely there at some point but have since vanished, leaving only the Spider-Man TV shows instead.
