Marvel fans who see tom Holland as the only choice to play Spider-Man may want to look away now.
The idea that someone else could play Spider-Man seems unthinkable, yet we’ve all been here before.
When Tobey Maguire first played Marvel’s beloved teen superhero, we couldn't picture anyone else taking on the role... Then Andrew Garfield stepped in.

Once again, we became attached, confident that no one could do the role justice quite like them.
Then we got Tom Holland.
Anyone noticing a pattern here?
Not long until Venom: The Last Dance...
What I’m trying to say in a very long winded way, is that Spider-Man is bigger than the actor who currently plays the part.

Yet, the possibility that Holland may not reprise the role in Spider-Man 4 is still quite surprising to Marvel fans.
What’s more shocking, it could be Garfield who swings in to save the day.
According to industry insider MyTimeToShineH, Sony “wants him [Garfield] in Spider-Man 4.”
We all know that the actor is more than open to returning to play as Spidey; after all, he told Esquire that playing Peter Parker in No Way Home was “healing”.

That being said, these two tidbits of information don’t necessarily mean that Garfield will permanently replace Holland, if he even does at all.
Not that this is stopping the above insider from making further claims that Garfield will have a “big role” in Avengers: Secret Wars.
We’d love to see Garfield make a comeback in the MCU.
But even if it never comes to fruition, at least fans can feel confident that the next generation MCU Avengers line-up is off to a fantastic start.

Marvel has numerous irons in the fire.
A new Spider-Man not played by Holland could be one of them – it's been done before.
Still, this insider hasn’t offered us concrete evidence beyond their initial claims, and thus we must proceed with caution.
