MCU fans united over comic accurate Wolverine casting

And no, it’s not a wizard

Marvel fans have united over a prospective comic-accurate Wolverine casting, but will it actually happen? Only time will tell.

Hugh Jackman absolutely nails playing the live-action Wolverine, aka Logan, ever since making his debut in X-Men (2000). He has the look, the gravelly voice and the charisma to match.

Jackman’s most recent performance as the popular mutant was in the 2024 movie Deadpool & Wolverine, which finally saw the Aussie actor team up with beloved Canadian Ryan Reynolds in the MCU.

Yet, despite looking shredded and incredible for his age at 56, there are probably not many more movie appearances as Wolverine left in the tank for Hugh Jackman. Which begs the question, who could wield the adamantium claws next?

Over the years, we’ve seen a few names thrown into the proverbial hat, such as Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe, who has a lot more range than some might think, and I have no doubts that he could be a fantastic Wolverine.

Other than being a fantastic actor, at 5'5, Daniel Radcliffe is very close to the comic book accurate height of Wolverine, who is 5'3, unlike the towering Hugh Jackman at 6'2.

Another name that has been thrown into the hat quite recently is Man of Steel star Henry Cavill. If cast, Cavill would be of similar ilk as Jackman, shredded and 6'1. Like Radcliffe, I also think Cavill would be a fantastic Wolverine.

However, there is yet another actor who fans might love to see as the next Wolverine, and that’s Jeremy Allen White (The Iron Claw, The Bear) who is not only shredded but a modest 5'7 tall, making him closer to comic-accurate height than Jackman or Cavill. Oh, and yes, every Wolverine needs to be shredded, if you’ve not already guessed.

“Comic accurate Wolverine, yes please,” tweeted Mutant_Menace, also sharing a link from entertainment industry insider DanielRPK, claiming that Jeremy Allen White is being considered for the MCU role.

“He would make a great Wolverine,” agreed bwyoungb.

“Would be firrreeee,” said ssFetizo.

“Him as Wolverine and Taron Egerton as Cyclops would be fire,” suggested 1way_devvv.

Much of the thread pointed out that Jeremy Allen White is a few inches too tall to be “comic-accurate”, but I’d imagine there aren't a great deal of choices for actors who are not only in that height range, but are also talented performers and have a certain look.

That being said, I’m all for Daniel Radcliffe as the next Wolverine, if not, Henry Cavill is my close second choice.
