Marvel fans are torn over who should play the next Professor X of the X-Men in the upcoming MCU reboot.
For many, Patrick Stewart is the face of the live-action Professor Charles Xavier aka Professor X, leader and mentor of the X-Men since 2000. That role also belongs to James McAvoy, who played a young Charles making his debut in X-Men: First Class in 2011.

To be fair, both actors played their roles wonderfully and every fan could argue an equally strong case as to which is the best. At the end of the day, it’s a personal preference and I’m sitting on the fence by saying that I couldn't pick between the two.

However, we’ll likely get another new Charles Xavier now that Disney owns the X-Men movie rights with the role expected to be recast in mutants MCU debut.
At this time, we have no idea who will play the next professor because we don't even know when the new X-Men movie will arrive. Some rumours have suggested that it could be released in cinemas around 2027 after Avengers: Secret Wars.
In the meantime, we can have fun speculating who will play the new leader of the X-Men and that’s exactly what Marvel fans have been doing on Reddit.
“Who should play Charles Xavier/Professor X in Marvel Studios?” asked Zestyclose_Start8897.

“Patrick Wilson,” responded another user.

As you can imagine, there were tons of suggestions on the thread, so many in fact, that we could be discussing who should play the next Professor X for most of the day.
Hopefully, Disney and Marvel will let the proverbial cat out of the bag soon and reveal all. We’ll keep you posted when that happens.
While we wait, we can enjoy the next MCU movie arriving next week on 14 February with Captain America: Brave New World.
