Benedict Cumberbatch has been speaking on his future in the MCU and dropped a few heavy hints about when we’ll see him put on the cloak of Doctor Strange once again.
In an interview with Variety, Cumberbatch noted that while he wouldn’t appear in Avengers: DOOMSDAY, he will have a major role to play in the follow-up, Avengers: Secret Wars.
Marvel Studios will have a busy 2025 across Disney+ and cinema
Of course, fans on Reddit have seen this news and begun to speculate and wonder on how Doctor Strange will play such an important role.

““He’s quite central to where things might go,” Cumberbatch teases.
There’s also a lot of guessing whether we see Doctor Strange 3 released before the big event of Avengers: Secret Wars.
“This MAY mean that DS3 is the film coming right before Secret Wars,” said AgentC3.
Another Redditor comments, “He was incredible in Infinity War, and it made his reappearance so much more impactful in Endgame.”

It’s no surprise that Doctor Strange is pivotal to the multiverse saga and the battle against Doctor Doom.
He did have a multiverse film, after all, and he’s currently off exploring an incursion event after the events of that film.
“If this is true then that's a really really good decision by Marvel,” said electrorazor.
There are so many theories out there, it’s hard to keep track of all of them, but Strange could be vital in closing the multiverse threads.

Perhaps Strange will be working alongside The Fantastic Four in the same way he once worked with Tony Stark.
It seems this is something some fans would want to see, though a few want to see The Fantastic Four take centre stage.
“I love Dr. Strange, but the FF need to be the central characters in the next MCU Avengers movies,” commented another MCU fan.
All will be revealed over the coming years, and speculation will continue.
