Tom Cruise is one of the most bankable stars going in Hollywood, but there’s one franchise he’s never actually appeared in yet.
He’s starred in some of the world’s biggest film franchises, including Mission: Impossible, Top Gun, and The Mummy.
And despite his status as one of the highest-grossing leads in the film industry, Cruise has never actually stepped into a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Of course, as one of the world’s top paid actors, Disney has been trying for years to bring him aboard into the MCU.

He was initially linked to the casting of Tony Stark in the original Iron Man, before Robert Downey Jr. stepped into the shoes.
As of last year, it was also reported that Marvel was trying to get Cruise to play an Iron Man variant in Avengers: Secret Wars, but unless it’s being kept a secret, nothing has been confirmed yet.
Marvel fans are now speculating who Cruise could play in the MCU, if he was to ever agree to play a role.
“Beyonder perhaps, though showing up as Superior Iron Man in Secret Wars would definitely throw me,” wrote one commenter on the Marvel Reddit page.

“Perhaps Mr Sinister in the Mutant reboots?” wrote another commenter. “I think he could pull off Nathaniel Essex pre transformation quite well, followed by the very ‘off’ nature of Sinister as he develops over time.”
“Norman Osborn. He’s weird, Osborn’s weird it would work,” a third comment reads.
It’s weird, but I think I agree that there isn’t really a role built for Tom Cruise outside of an Iron Man variant.
On the other hand, it also seems like Cruise has no interest in pursuing a role with Marvel. He typically hasn’t done films with Disney, and it doesn’t sound like he will be doing so any time soon.
