Marvel fans torn over new MCU Hulk casting

Marvel fans torn over new MCU Hulk casting

Fans are struggling to say goodbye to Bruce

The Marvel fandom is once again at odds as it discusses the casting choice for the new MCU Hulk.

Marvel fans have become accustomed to seeing specific actors play the role of certain heroes, and it’s led to an unease about new casting decisions.

Whether we like it or not though, the MCU as we know it is ending.

After years of seeing the same faces take on the persona of these beloved characters, the MCU is due a reboot of sorts.

Have you seen the final trailer for Venom: The Last Dance?

Such a move inevitably involves new actors taking on iconic roles, yet fans don’t seem able to get used to this concept.

On the Marvel Studios Rumours subreddit, Louis_DCVN shared a leak about the new MCU casting for Hulk.

They’re not the originator of this information, Daniel Richtman is. He’s a well-known leaker, one who some would argue has much credibility.

However, while he’s been known to be accurate about his predictions, some fans argue it’s because he “parrots” information rather than discovering it himself.

In a Twitter post from 3 October Richtman said, “Logan Kim (Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Frozen Empire) has been cast as Amadeus Cho in the MCU.”

Just in case your Marvel knowledge is spotty, Amadeus Cho is/was Hulk in the comics, and is a successor to Bruce Banner.

Cho is also much younger than Banner, and thus the casting of Logan Kim feels quite apt... assuming this news is true.

As the subreddit discussions will show you, not everyone is convinced that Kim will play the role.

“90% of the shit he [Richtman] says turns out to be wrong. The few times he's accurate, he's just parroting news someone else broke,” commented sincerelyhated.

Putting Richtman’s credibility to one side, there are also fans who think Kim is a poor choice.

“Did not like the acting in that movie [Ghostbusters], so I’m not a fan of this choice,” posted roastytoastywarm.

As others have mentioned though, this leak does seem to “lineup” with other news.

User Miserable_Parking491 said, “It lines up with a leak that was going around on r/leaksandrumors the other day about Cho being a side character or cameo in Brave New World.”

Kim may or may not be the next MCU hulk, but regardless of that fact, fans aren’t united about a new Hulk being chosen in general.
