Appearing on the Nightcap Show, Coogler revealed two interesting little tidbits about Black Panther 3. Firstly, he stated that fans won’t have to wait long for the next film, potentially implying that a release date announcement is imminent.
Secondly, Coogler was asked about Denzel Washington’s role in the film, following Washington accidentally leaking the fact that he was in talks to star in the movie several months ago.
“I’ve been dying to work with Denzel and I’m hoping we can make that happen,” Coogler told Nightcap.
“I got every intention of working with him in that movie. As long as he’s interested, it’s gonna happen. He’s a living legend and a great mentor for so many of us.”

Thunderbolts* is up next for the MCU.
The commenters replying to Blackcap’s clip of the interview on Twitter were understandably hyped.
“If Denzel joins the cast, Black Panther 3 just went to the next level,” commented user @TheWorldVoices.

“Can't wait to see what he brings to Wakanda!”
“If Ryan Coogler is behind it. Trust you bout to watch a gem,” replied user @HooperCurryProd.
“He does not miss.”
I think it’s a sure thing that Denzel Washington will take on a role in Black Panther 3 at this point. Coogler probably can’t confirm anything at this point simply because a contract hasn’t been signed yet.

Personally, I’m just not sure who exactly he might be playing. Perhaps there’s some kind of flashback scene with T'Chaka? Either way, I think it’s fair to say that an actor of Denzel’s caliber will crush whatever role he’s given.
