MCU X-Men reboot has the perfect Storm, fans agree

She has some big shoes to fill

Fresh off of her appearance on the latest State Farm commercial over in America, one singer/actress has cast her eyes on an even bigger role.

Recently appearing in the advert for insurance, SZA (Solána Imani Row), who is best known as being a singer/songwriter has seemingly taken to the world of acting by depicting Catwoman in the Batman-inspired commercial.

In the meantime, check out the trailer for X-Men '97 below!

Starring alongside Jason Bateman in the ‘Bateman vs. Batman” commercial, SZA has apparently been bitten by the superhero bug as she has recently claimed that she would be interested in playing Storm in the upcoming X-Men reboot.

The reboot, which is expected to hit cinemas in 2027, will be the first mainline X-Men movie since 2019’s X-Men: Dark Phoenix and so fans can expect a brand-new cast.

Although Marvel Studios has yet to announce any of its cast, it seems as though SZA wishes to be amongst them by taking on the role of Ororo Munroe.

Appearing on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the singer was asked if there was a Marvel or DC role on the cards for her.

"I would love to be a superhero," SZA replied "[Storm] comes from this whole other place where it's the jungle ... So, I think that would be so gnarly if I could be Storm's origin story."

"My dad collects first-edition comics, so he has the first-edition Thor comics and Silver Surfer just in the basement.”

As well as the State Farm commercial, SZA also appeared alongside Keke Palmer in 2025’s One of Them Days and Palmer herself has even expressed interest in playing Rogue in the X-Men reboot.

Up until now, Storm has been portrayed by Halle Berry in the live-action movies by 20th Century Fox and Alexandra Shipp in X-Men: Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix.

Details remain scarce on the highly-anticipated reboot but there is no denying that the role of Storm will be a coveted one to say the least.
