Damson Idris, best known for his role in the FX TV series Snowfall, has responded to rumours that he may have been cast as Black Panther in the MCU.
Several outlets have reported on the actor supposedly being headhunted for the role of Black Panther, although the rumour hasn’t specified whether or not Idris was being considered to replace Chadwick Boseman in the role or if he was being cast as an alternate version of the character.
The actor was asked about the rumour on Twitter, and quote replied with a response.

“Yes sir,” replied Idris in a Twitter post, “I turned down 007, A co-lead film with Daniel Day Lewis and an Eddie Murphy biopic too.”
Here’s the thing though: I’m pretty sure there’s a good chance that Idris is joking.
Look, jokes on the internet (especially those in text format) aren’t always easy to spot, and I’m not familiar enough with Damson Idris’ personality to say whether or not he’s the type of person to poke fun at stuff like this or not but… these would actually be ridiculously stupid projects to turn down.
There are extenuating circumstances to turning down or accepting any role in Hollywood, but there’s no way you’d turn down all four opportunities like this - ESPECIALLY the Daniel Day Lewis one.

There’s always a chance he is being serious, in which case I would respectfully ask why he’d turn decline a role in a Daniel Day Lewis film but star in a film as terrible as 2021’s Outside the Wire, but I’m 99% sure he’s joking.
Honestly, I think he’d absolutely crush the role of Black Panther so, I’m kind of hoping this is just a smokescreen.
Hopefully, the rumour is actually true, but he’s been asked to keep it quiet by Disney until they’re ready to announce something.
