MCU fans divided over our new Wolverine for next Avengers movies

Time to sharpen those claws!

It seems that a Wolverine character from the world of Marvel is making a return in the MCU’s upcoming Avengers films, and some fans are divided.

Wolverine is one of the most popular characters in the world of comics and not just Marvel. James “Logan” Howlett made his debut as a cameo in The Incredible Hulk #180 in 1974. Wolverine would soon become one of the most instantly recognisable faces of the X-Men.

Check out the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer below!

I am about to go into spoilers for the 2017 movie Logan and 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine, so if you’ve not watched either of those awesome movies yet, you might want to change that ASAP, especially if you subscribe to Disney Plus.

In Logan, Wolverine is ageing but still looks good for a man who’s nearly 200 years old at that point. To make matters worse, his close friend and mentor, Professor Charles Xavier, is suffering from dementia and for a man with his unique abilities, that causes all sorts of added troubles for those involved.

Later in the movie, reluctantly, Logan is tasked with looking after a young girl named X-23, played by Dafne Keen, who has similar abilities as he must help her cross the American border to reach a safe haven.

In Deadpool & Wolverine, X-23 returns but as she soon finds out, this is a different Logan from the 2017 movie but he’s no less a hero, whether he wants to admit it or not. There was no real indication that X-23 would return in another movie after Deadpool & Wolverine but apparently, she may be set to do just that.

In a tweet shared on Reddit by user Sarang_616, it’s claimed that X-23 will return in Avengers: Doomsday (2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (2027). While this might be fantastic news for some, not everyone agrees.

“I love the fact that she is coming back. We also need Hugh Jackman as Wolverine though. I want to see him next to Steve Rogers, and Natasha Romanoff against Robert Downey Jr.'s Doom,” said MarPHX. Did they say ... Steve? Who's going to tell them?

“They’ve got to give her a suit this time around,” replied TheCommish-17. Speaking of which, on Twitter, the source of this information claims that X-23 will be given a comic-accurate suit.

“Who isn’t in the next Avengers movie at this point is the real question,” exclaimed FreddyPlayz.

“At this rate just say Channing Tatum will be back as Gambit and somehow Anna Paquin back as Rogue, and I’ll just roll with it while we’re here,” said Soul_Crusher_1534.

That all being said, it’s important to take all unconfirmed rumours with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. Hopefully, all will be confirmed in the coming months.
