Kevin Feige has just revealed what the Avengers are currently up to in the MCU… and honestly, I think his statement is raising more questions than answers.
Thank you in advance to The Direct's Sam Hargrave for the original source!
So, no spoilers, but prior to the events of Captain America: Brave New World, everyone had the same question: where the hell are the Avengers?

Obviously, the Avengers are short a few members these days. Black Widow and Iron Man are dead, Steve Rogers is on the moon (maybe?), Carol Danvers is off-world, Scarlet Witch is AWOL, and everyone sort of has no idea who Spider-Man is anymore, but that still leaves at least half a dozen members.
So, where is everyone else, and why weren’t they featured in the trailers for Captain America: Brave New World?
Well in an official press release for the film, Kevin Feige offered up (half of) an update.
"In 'Captain America: Brave New World' Sam Wilson is Captain America, and he has made the decision to unabashedly become Captain America,” stated Feige.

“But what does it mean to be Captain America when you’re not a super soldier, which we definitively know Sam Wilson is not, and in a world where the Avengers are not currently active?"
So, there’s part of an answer at least; the Avengers “are not currently active.”
Assumedly, what Feige means by that is that they’re sort of disbanded. While The Hulk, Ant-Man, Hawkeye and Thor are knocking about somewhere out there, they are kind of busy with their own stuff. Well, The Hulk is raising a son at least (honestly who knows what’s going on with Bruce Banner at the moment).
So, who exactly is going to be on the Avengers roster by the time Avengers: Doomsday rolls around? Sam Wilson is a certainty, and we’ll likely see The Hulk and Captain Marvel show up, but beyond that, it’s tough to say.

Maybe we’ll get some answers in Thunderbolts* when that drops in May, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this is an issue that Avengers: Doomsday is planning to tackle in the opening half of its runtime.
I just hope Ant-Man comes back in some way, that character is always at his best when he’s not actually, y’know, in an Ant-Man film…
