Robert Downey Jr. is reprising his role of Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, though not in the way you’d expect.
It’s been an exciting time for Marvel fans, with the release of Deadpool & Wolverine which just surpassed the $1 billion mark, as well as sneak peeks for upcoming films and TV series coming to the MCU, like Captain America: Brave New World and Daredevil: Born Again.

These announcements have been made over the past few weeks through events like San Diego Comic Con and recently D23, though the most exciting announcement of all was Robert Downey Jr. returning to the franchise to play its new villain, Doctor Doom.

Reception to the reveal from fans was mixed, with some praising it as an awesome idea that no one could have seen coming, and others saying it's proof that the MCU writers have run out of original ides outside of bringing back previous actors.
However, it’s now been confirmed that Robert Downey Jr. will also be reprising his role as Iron Man through an upcoming Disneyland ride, Stark Flight Lab.
If you’ve been to a Disney Park before, the ride is said to be similar to Star Tours, though with a Marvel flavour.
In reaction to the news, one fan said, “If he's getting like 80 [million] to play Doom now, I wonder how much he makes to do something like this.”

Robert Downey Jr. was also described as a “busy guy,” with another fan using the joke from Deadpool & Wolverine that Marvel will keep bringing the actor back into the fold “until he’s 90”.
Whether this is also a subtle tease that he’ll return to the big screen as Iron Man is unknown, though it’s unlikely since he’ll likely be too busy playing the MCU’s next big bad.
