One Marvel star has confirmed that a sequel to one of the better MCU movies in recent years is definitely happening.

It’s perhaps a given that when an MCU movie is a success both commercially and critically, Marvel and Disney would commission at least one sequel. That being said, as most of us will know, not everything is a guarantee in life.

Check out Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings trailer below!

One MCU movie in particular that many fans would love to see a sequel for is Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings which was released in cinemas in September 2021.

“Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings stars Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, who must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organisation,” reads the synopsis of the movie.

Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings garnered over $432 million at the global box office from its reported $200 million budget making it a commercial success. As for critically, Shang-Chi scored a very respectable 92% from critics and 98% from the audience on the aggregate website, Rotten Tomatoes.

So, with those impressive numbers, what’s going on with Shang-Chi 2? As reported by Digital Spy, the star of the movie Simu Liu said: “A lot of it is above my pay grade, but it's definitely happening.”

“So just very excited to kind of work on it, and it's going to be amazing. I really can't say anything beyond that."

All we need now is for Marvel and Disney to make the official announcement in the coming months and we’ll be happy. In the meantime, you can rewatch Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings to your heart's content on Disney Plus.
