Marvel boss teases Loki's MCU return

Marvel boss teases Loki's MCU return

Keep this info Loki

The D23 Brazil news just keeps on coming. This time the MCU-related news is a lot more Loki-focused, and implies that something big is in the character’s future.

Big thanks to both The Direct's Richard Nebens for the scoop and also to CinePOP for the source (who originally interviewed Brad Winderbaum at D23 Brazil).

When speaking to Brad Winderbaum, Marvel’s Head of Streaming, CinePOP asked him about the potential to see Loki pop up in any further MCU projects down the line.

Winderbaum was, in classic Feige fashion, not entirely forthcoming, but he did simply state that, “There's always a chance”.

Of course, this shouldn't come as a surprise to many given how season two of Loki ended (obvious spoilers from here on out if you've yet to watch that).

Now that Loki has taken control of the Temporal Realm and become the “God of Stories” (as fans have dubbed him), we always knew he was going to make a comeback in one way or another.

Captain America: Brave New World is next up in the MCU.

Plus, given the TVA’s meddling in Deadpool & Wolverine, many other elements from the Loki series keep popping up in other MCU films and shows.

It’s clear that Marvel has got something big planned for the character, we just didn’t know whether that meant that he would feature in a series of films or if his story would be wrapped up in a potential third season.

Given Winderbaum’s comment, it implies that it could be the latter - although I wouldn’t be surprised if it ended up being a combination of the two.

The MCU is still very much in its multiversal phase at the moment. It seems like a lot of that story is going to come to a head in Avengers: Secret War, so I’d wager we might hear a bit more out of Loki then.
