Reportedly, grown men were crying on set when Hugh Jackman was seen wearing his iconic Wolverine suit for the upcoming movie, Deadpool & Wolverine, and I don't blame them.
Growing up as an '80s child, I obviously never had streaming services such as Disney Plus and Netflix, because simply, it was years before the privilege of the internet was an everyday benefit of the common household.

We had to make do with racing home after school to catch our favourite cartoons on the TV or via the glory that was Saturday morning children’s TV. However, the one thing that I could do in my own time was read my precious comic books.

Whether it was Batman battling with the Joker, Spider-Man and the symbiote or the X-Men saving humankind from Magneto, there is truly something special about the feel and smell of a comic book.
One of my favourite comic book characters growing up was James “Logan” Lewitt aka Wolverine and other than his signature adamantium claws, part of his identity was his iconic yellow, black, blue and red suit.
When it comes to best representations of live-action comic book characters, Hugh Jackman’s version of Wolverine has been near perfect (when not accounting for the fact that he’s much taller than his comic book counterpart) but if there’s been one thing missing, it’s a proper Wolverine suit and not the standard X-Men uniform.
The closest we got to a classic Wolverine suit was during the post-credit scene of the 2013 movie, The Wolverine in which he was given the brown-ochre suit and not the yellow, black, blue and red.

What’s more, ever since Ryan Reynolds made his none-MCU debut as Deadpool in the 2016 movie, fans have been calling for him and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine to team up in a live-action movie, a wish that will be granted when Deadpool & Wolverine makes its way into cinemas later this month.
Oh, and as you would have already seen in the trailers, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine will finally be wearing the iconic yellow, black, blue and red suit in his and Deadpool’s MCU debut. As you can imagine, this has made passionate and long-standing fans very happy but perhaps none more so than the men sobbing on set.
“Deadpool & Wolverine's Hugh Jackman Walking Out in Classic Suit Had Grown Men 'Sobbing on Set'' reads the headline from IGN (via HeyUGuys).

“It was one of the most surreal things,” said Deadpool & Wolverine executive producer, Wendy Jacobson. “It was the camera test. It was before we started shooting.
“To see both of those guys, first of all, in costume together was just mind-blowing, but Hugh walking out in the yellow and blue, I mean, there were grown men, like, sobbing on set. So we knew it was a special, very special thing,” Jacobson concluded.
To be fair, I can’t guarantee that I wouldn't have done the same. Deadpool & Wolverine arrives in cinemas on Thursday, 25 July 2024.
