A popular Spider-Man actor has hinted at a return to the movie franchise and fans are hyped for it and so are we.
In 2002, Spider-Man directed by Sam Raimi and starring Tobey Maguire, became the standard of what live-action superhero movies should be. Since that time, we’ve been graced with the MCU bringing many other comic book characters to life with a huge amount of success.

Following in the footsteps of Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield became the friendly neighbourhood hero in 2012 but with the MCU’s version of Spider-Man on the horizon to be played by Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield never had a trilogy series.

Andrew Garfield did make an epic return alongside Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home and since that time, an increasing number of fans have been calling for Garfield’s trilogy to happen.
There have been rumours that we’ll get The Amazing Spider-Man 3 but at the time of writing, neither Sony nor Marvel have announced what fans would love to see. However, not for the first time, Andrew Garfield has declared his interest in reprising the role of Spidey once more.
During an interview with Esquire (thanks Comicbook.com), when asked about returning as Peter Parker, Garfield said: “For sure, I would 100% come back if it was the right thing. If it's additive to the culture, if there's a great concept or something that hasn't been done before that's unique, odd and exciting and that you can sink your teeth into.”
"I love that character, and it brings joy. If part of what I bring is joy, then I'm joyful in return,” said the actor with a beaming smile. Naturally, fans have reacted positively to the prospect of the charming Andrew Garfield’s return.

“Sony is dumb. Instead of making spinoffs like Madame Web, Morbius, and Kraven the Hunter, they should make sequels to the Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire films,” exclaimed Redditor RockNRoll85 showing an understandable lack of faith in Sony’s Marvel movies.
Interestingly, the conversation on the Reddit thread is following a claim from insider DanielRPK that Andrew Garfield’s potential Spider-Man movie could see him fight an alien species with many hoping that he might tangle with Knull, the symbiote creator and villain of Venom: The Last Dance.
Of course, we should take all rumours with a pinch of salt but considering both Andrew Garfield and the fans want him to star in a new Spider-Man film, Sony surely has to make it happen, right?

As always, we’ll keep you posted if we hear further developments on the prospective return of Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man. In the meantime, Venom: The Last Dance arrives in cinemas on 25 October 2024.
