Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness might not have been the most consistent Marvel movie, but you can't deny it had a real sense of style to it.
This should come as no surprise, of course, when you consider the man in the director's chair was none other than Sam Raimi.
Really, who better to do a movie that straddles superheroics and horror than a guy who has directed both The Evil Dead and Spider-Man?

While a third Doctor Strange movie has yet to be officially confirmed, we do know Benedict Cumberpatch will be reprising his role in the upcoming Avengers movies.
As if that wasn't enough, a new report suggests Doctor Strange 3 is coming along, and that Sam Raimi is being eyed to return for a sequel that dials up the horror even more.
Quite how you can get more horrifying than a decaying Scarlet Witch snapping Professor X's head off without upping the rating remains to be seen, but I can't wait to find out.
This rumour comes via TheInSnieder, and it makes a lot of sense. Raimi has said he'd be happy to return to the MCU for more adventures, and Doctor Strange is clearly a great fit.

Over on Reddit fans have pointed out the huge success of the R-rated Deadpool & Wolverine could even have encouraged Marvel to give Raimi the go-ahead to do something a little more extreme for the next Doctor Strange, though this may just be wishful thinking.
Personally, I'd love to see Raimi go full horror for a Doctor Strange sequel that isn't bogged down by cameos or multiverse nonsense. Give me Mephisto. Give me Dormammu. Give me something strange.
