Doomsday and Secret Wars are set to be the next Avengers movie after a five-year hiatus and a latest update for the first entry has fans feeling the hype.
It has been a few years since Avengers: Endgame blew our minds and tied up some loose ends for our Avengers as we knew them.

Now there is a new story to tell with Marvel’s Phase 6 about to start and it all kicks off with Avengers: Doomsday hitting cinemas on 1 May, 2026.

Not only that but Avengers: Secret Wars will follow a year later and although we don’t know anything about its story, a recent update has fans feeling reassured.
During New York Comic-Con which took place earlier this month, the Russo brothers took time out to discuss the upcoming projects and have revealed that the two movies will not be filmed back-to-back.
However, it was safe to assume this as that is exactly what happened for Infinity Wars and Endgame.
Joe Russo explained: “It’ll be similar, but we’ll have a larger break in between the two movies than we did.

I think it was four weeks maybe? Was it four weeks between Infinity War and Endgame?”
“I think it was a couple of weeks,” Anthony added.
“But no, these are not as separated as you would normally separate two films of this scale, but they’re more substantially separated [than Infinity War and Endgame] by a year or so.”
Once production for Avengers: Doomsday has wrapped up, it will be around a year until filming begins for Secret Wars.

Although the Russo brothers didn’t explain why, some fans guess it is so movies such as Spider-Man 4 and Doctor Strange 3 can be released in between.
“It’s probably because the end of Doomsday triggers the end of the multiverse and the formation of the battle world,” one comment on r/MCUTheories read.
“They’ll want a couple of movies set in that world to flesh the scenario out a bit before they have the return of the main crew to fight it out and topple the God Emperor.”
Another said: “Mark my words.
