Another animated LEGO film from a galaxy far, far away is coming to Disney+ this year, and it’s Star Wars like you’ve never seen it before.
Every now and then Star Wars partners up with LEGO, and the results are almost always spectacular, from games, real-life sets, and short films for TV.

Lego Star Wars: Rebuild The Galaxy aims to be another memorable LEGO adventure with a very interesting premise, a form of What-If? take on the galaxy far, far away similar to what Marvel has done with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The plot follows something very wrong happening to the Star Wars timeline, with a variety of changes made to its history for some truly terrifying effects, like what if the Rebels were the villains all along, or if Ewoks were bounty hunters?
Arguably the scariest change of all though, is the trailer reveal that Darth Jar-Jar Binks is finally being recognised by official Star Wars media.
Darth Jar-Jar has been a meme in the fandom for years now, with many speculating, half-jokingly, that he’ll return to the series one day as its main villain.
Now the fan-made character will finally be recognised, and best of all Ahmed Best is reprising his role and voicing him again. Best was relentlessly bullied for the role when the prequel films released, but returned to Star Wars during a flashback episode of The Mandalorian as a Jedi Knight.

Rebuild The Galaxy will also introduce a new character called Sig Greebling, who’ll be the protagonist who, hopefully, rebuilds the Star Wars canon, though maybe Darth Jar-Jar can stay…
The animated special will premiere exclusively for Disney+ later this year on 13 September, and will be split into four-parts.
Star Wars’ LEGO projects always strike a strong balance of telling good stories with plenty of comedy suitable for all fans, so hopefully this next one delivers that same quality and then some.
