Harry Potter HBO leaked Hagrid casting praised by fans

More casting leaks

The HBO adaptation of Harry Potter is steadily picking up steam, and casting choices are being made left, right, and centre.

While the golden trio have not yet been announced, we’ve had official news on the casting of Dumbledore, Snape, and McGonagall. Now it seems more Harry Potter leaks are pointing to the actor taking on the role of Hagrid.

HBO casting for Harry Potter is building up steam

On Reddit, one leaker, who has previously been correct in predicting the actors playing announced, so far, has announced that Nick Frost will be playing Hagrid.

If you go back through the user’s history, it’s easy to see they predicted both John Lithgow as Dumbledore, and Paapa Essiedu as Snape.

Obviously, you should take this with a pinch of salt, for now, but if this turns out to be true, it would be some genius casting.

Fans seem thrilled with the possibility, with one saying, “He's been one of the most popular fancasts for the role since the show was announced. Perfect casting if it's true.”

Another Harry Potter fan jumps in to say, “If that’s true, I’ll watch it just for that reason alone.”

Nick Frost can easily play the bumbling, heart of gold groundskeeper - it’s not far off many of the roles he has played over the years.

Of course, with this news, some are now begging for Simon Pegg to act alongside him.

“If Nick Frost is in this, then they need to find a role for his BFF Simon Pegg. He could be Filch,” said LOCH_NESS_MONSTER.

There’s no disappointment in the Reddit thread, as everyone celebrates this possible news.

As someone with some comedy chops, but also an ability to tap into heartfelt emotion, Frost could do very well as Hagrid.

THE_KING95 notes, “Man, I love nick frost. Jackpot casting that.”

Now we wait until Warner Bros. and HBO announce it formally.
