
Over the past few weeks, we’ve had confirmation of several stars signing on to the HBO adaptation of Harry Potter.
The list includes John Lithgow taking on the role of Dumbledore, and while fans await any news on which fresh-faced actors will play the golden trio, a small leak has cemented major Harry Potter characters appearing.

Picked up by Reddit, a snippet from Production Weekly has confirmed four stars taking on roles in the upcoming adaptation.

The show will be codenamed ‘Dark Train’ during filming, to hide blatant promotion while filming in public, and the listing notes four actors.
Of course, John Lithgow is noted, as is Janet McTeer as Professor McGonagall.
Paapa Essiedu is listed for his role as Snape, and Nick Frost is confirmed for his role as Hagrid.
Yes, of course, we knew most of this. However, this is the first time we’ve seen the actors confirmed preparing for shooting, which will likely get started soon.

Fans are quick to point out that this listing confirms the show is going into pre-production, which will mean more cast members are sure to be announced soon.
Everyone is waiting to see which young actors will play Harry, Ron, and Hermione.
“I’m really thinking that the theory people have had that they’re gonna do a full cast announcement early next month when the kids are out of school for two weeks for Easter break… is looking like it might be correct,” notes DALTT.
