God of War fans rejoice because we’re officially getting two new adventures from Kratos and friends.
Developed by Santa Monica Studio, the God of War series has always been one of PlayStation’s most valuable properties ever since we were treated to the very first game in the series in 2005 on the PlayStation 2.

Over the years, we’ve had multiple sequels, spin-offs and remasters for the Greek God slayer otherwise known as Kratos, many of which have been met with critical acclaim.

In 2018, the series had a soft reboot on PlayStation 4 with Kratos attempting to live a quiet life in Scandinavia. Some could argue that despite previous success, in recent years, the God of War series has never been better.
At the very least since 2018, it feels like the God of War series has grown in popularity which is why the franchise is branching out into the world of TV.
We first learned that God of War is getting a live-action series from Amazon’s streaming platform, Prime Video, in 2022. However, we’ve not been given many details on the series since then.
Thankfully, in celebration of God of War’s 20th anniversary, Sony and Santa Monica Studio have been treating us to new announcements such as free DLC for God of War Ragnarök, a fan kit for desktop and mobile, as well as this awesome (but expensive) new retrospective release.

As reported by The Sackhoff Show, the showrunner of the Amazon God of War series, Ronald Moore, has officially confirmed that it will be getting at least two seasons.
“Right now I’m working on an adaptation of a video game called God of War,” he said. “It’s a big title in the gaming world that Amazon has ordered two seasons of. They’ve asked me to come in and I’m literally in the writers’ room working on that.”
It remains to be seen whether having two seasons confirmed already will benefit the series or whether it means that the production crew might get complacent. That being said, after the fantastic Fallout show from Amazon, God of War will initially be getting my benefit of the doubt.
At the time of writing, the God of War series does not have a release date but hopefully, we’ll learn those details in the coming months.
