Game Of Thrones movie quietly announced

Game Of Thrones movie quietly announced

It's heading to the big screen

A recent report has revealed that Game of Thrones is back but this time a movie format is in the works at Warner Bros.

Kicking off in 2011 and coming to a conclusion in 2019, Game of Thrones cemented itself as one of the best television shows of all time.

Check out the trailer for House of the Dragon season two below!

Adapted from the A Song of Ice and Fire book series by George R.R. Martin, it told the story of nine noble families waging war against each other in the mythical land of Westeros.

Add in some sex, dragons and a whole lot of blood and you got yourself a television show that is still talked about to this day.

However, with its eighth and final season being a huge disappointment to fans, it seems as though there is a redemption arc on the cards thanks to a recent announcement.

It appears that Warner Bros. has been quietly working on a Game of Thrones movie with HBO/Max.

Sources at the Hollywood Reporter claim that the project is still in the very early stages and has no filmmaker, cast or writer attached just yet. So yes, very early stages.

With HBO originally adamant that it did not want to go down the movie path, it seems it has been persuaded.

This makes sense considering show writers David Benioff and Dan Weiss and ASOIAF author Martin were both interested in the story hitting the big screen.

The love for Game of Thrones continues to this day with HBO’s prequel series House of the Dragon recently airing its second season.

Not only that but another prequel series titled A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is aiming for a 2025 release.

It is still early days for the Game of Thrones movie but let us hope it improves on the dreaded final season of the show.
