Fallout delay praised by fans as best possible move

Fallout delay praised by fans as best possible move

Safety first

With the report of Southern California being hit by a severe windstorm which has triggered multiple wildfires, it seems as though production for Fallout season two has understandably taken a backseat.

Many of us woke up this morning to the news that Southern California has been the victim of dangerous weather with a quarter-acre brush fire breaking out just north of Los Angeles on Tuesday night.

Check out our interview with the cast of Fallout below!

Whilst the SoCal area continues to be battered by strong winds, it seems as though production for Amazon MGM Studios and Kilter Films’ Fallout season two has been paused whilst the weather dies down.

The second season, which is being filmed in California’s Santa Clarita area, is quite the change considering the hit first season was filmed in New York but a bigger budget has seen production make the big move.

Now due to the extreme weather, production for Fallout season two has been halted until Friday for extra precautions, according to a report by Deadline.

Despite the Fallout universe being no stranger to extreme weather, fans are pleased to hear that production is keeping its cast and crew safe and took to r/Fallout to share their thoughts.

“Better that they’re safe than to risk someone’s life,” user Laser_3 commented.

Any_Strain1288 added, “Kind of on the nose with the irony.”

It is no surprise that millions of fans are excited for the show’s second season, considering Fallout was a massive hit in 2024 and even went on to win Best Adaptation at The Game Awards.

Starring Ella Purnell as protagonist Lucy, the show follows her as she leaves her home of Vault 33 in order to search for her father in an unforgiving wasteland.

Along the way, she meets a Brotherhood of Steel squire Maximus (Aaron Moten) as well as everybody’s favourite legendary ghoul who is played by the legendary Walter Goggins himself.

With Bethesda’s Fallout 5 not expected to arrive any time soon, Prime Video’s adaptation is keeping us all busy and so we hope its second season is as good as its first.
