Elden Ring anime drops its first trailer, and it's blown us away

Oh, my!

In what has to be one of the most impressive fan-made productions we’ve seen, prepare to be blown away by this incredible Elden Ring anime teaser trailer.

If there’s a video game developer that would be ideally suited to animated adaptations, it would be FromSoftware with the likes of Dark Souls (which could be happening), Bloodborne, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and the aforementioned, Elden Ring.

Check out the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree trailer below!

Previously, Elden Ring creator Hidetaka Miyazaki has teased that the challenging action RPG could one day be adapted into a movie or TV series. This makes sense considering that Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon creator George R. R. Martin has collaborated on the FromSoftware title.

While we hope for such an announcement to happen one day, a dedicated and talented fan has already begun work on a passion project with an anime Elden Ring adaptation sharing some stunning screenshots of the production back in May 2024. Well now, the anime creator, Steins Alter has shared the first teaser trailer for the Elden Ring project and it’s everything we’d hoped it would be and more.

The teaser trailer runs at just 50 seconds and features Malenia, Blade of Miquella, Maliketh the Black Blade, Mohg, Lord of Blood and Starscourge Radahn, before ending with Shadow of the Erdtree boss, Messmer the Impaler.

The creator of the Elden Ring anime has promised that the full short movie will run for around five minutes and will feature a Japanese dub. If this teaser trailer is a sign of things to come, I can’t wait to see its final form.

No release date has been provided for the full Elden Ring adaptation but hopefully, it’s not too far away and you can follow Steins Alter’s Patreon page to keep updated on the project. Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
