Batman fans instantly sold on new Dark Knight actor as first trailer drops

Fans are impressed with the new Dark Knight

Last night, Amazon and Warner Bros debuted the first trailer for Batman: Caped Crusader and fans are very pleased with the new voice of the Dark Knight.

The hype is real and fans are thrilled with the performance of Hamish Linklater’s interpretation of Batman.

Can Batman: Caped Crusader top or equal the brilliance of Batman: The Animated Series?

For many, Batman will always be connected to Kevin Conroy, and for good reason. He was the voice of Batman for so many years, he’s become synonymous with the role.

Of course, after the sad passing of Conroy, a new voice was selected in Linklater who sounds absolutely perfect in the role for the new show being helmed by, among others, Matt Reeve and J.J. Abrams.

With a distinct animation style that harks back to Batman: The Animated Series from the early 1990s, the show seems like it’s off to a good start.

One Twitter user said, “Choosing Hamish Linklater for this role is one of the greatest casting decisions. He sounds like Batman/ Bruce Wayne. I’m all in.”

While another simply stated, “We’ve found Kevin Conroy’s successor.” Batman: Caped Crusader looks at the early years of Batman when many believed he was just another villain in a mask.

As part of the wider Gotham we will of course get to see a few of Batman’s rogue’s gallery of villains, including Two-Face who is played by Diedrich Bayder, Harley Quinn will be portrayed by Jamie Chung, and the anti-hero of Catwoman goes to Christina Ricci.

The trailer is certainly an impressive piece of marketing for a show I was already 100% in on. Now, I can’t wait to see it when it comes to Amazon Prime.

While Conroy will always be my Batman (and Keaton, btw) this has the makings of being a very successful shot at reinventing a character played by so many. I only hope it succeeds so we can have many seasons of what looks to be some brilliant TV.
