Here at GAMINGbible, I am known for never shutting up about The Last of Us and lately, I’ve had plenty to talk about. Just when the hype surrounding The Last of Us Part I drew to a close, HBO dropped the incredible first trailer for their TV adaptation of the game. Thanks to a leak, we also now seemingly know when the show will air - and it’s very, very soon.
That’s not to mention the upcoming The Last of Us multiplayer project, which appears to be set in San Francisco. Featuring a brand new storyline, the game is likely to be free-to-play but we’ve already been assured we’ll learn more about that project next year. As if that wasn’t enough, Naughty Dog have now revealed The Last of Us: Escape The Dark - a brand new tabletop game.
Check out the trailer for HBO’s The Last of Us series below.
Naughty Dog have teamed up with Escape The Dark creators Themeborne for the project. Over on the Themeborne website, the creators noted that the game would be a one to five player RPG experience. They wrote, “Taking the roles of Ellie, Joel, Tess, Bill, Tommy, or Marlene, fans will have the opportunity to weave their own unique story of survival and companionship as they explore an open-world map - attempting to make their way to safety while keeping everybody in the group alive.”

Gameplay involves decision making, immersive ‘chapter cards’ set at familiar game locations like the suburbs, sewers and university, plus players will need to overcome threats like Hunters and Infected. It’s a pretty good looking tabletop game too. In other words, I need it and I need it as soon as possible.
It’s a project that’s being crowdfunded. The Kickstarter page is set to go live on 8 November, at which point, fans will get a deeper look at the game and also have the opportunity to get their hands on an exclusive collector’s edition. What are the chances that this sells out very quickly? I’m sensing they’re high.
