Production of The Witcher’s third season is currently underway, which is sure to have fans excited. Although there’s currently no release date for the next batch of episodes in the series, they’re set to cover Time of Contempt, the second of author Andrzej Sapkowski’s Witcher novels.
Meanwhile, the next game in the Witcher series is also in development, and we have one huge wish for how it should go...
It sounds like there could be some pretty big changes in store for the next season, though. Redanian Intelligence report that apparently, Chris Fulton will be stepping down from his role as Rience, who will instead be played by Sam Woolf (Theodosia). It’s currently not known why this is the case - Redanian Intelligence suggest that it could just be the result of a scheduling conflict.

The new actor was seemingly pictured in Wales back in June, filming a fight scene with Ciri, Yennefer and Geralt, so we already have some kind of idea of what he’ll look like in the role. And honestly? From a distance, he looks super similar - we’ll just have to wait and see how his performance holds up.
This change hasn’t been officially announced by Netflix, so at the moment, it all remains a bit of a mystery. It was just last month that filming was suspended due to an outbreak of Covid-19 - apparently, multiple cast members, including Henry Cavill, tested positive. Netflix claimed that production would be “up and running as soon as it is safe to do so” - it’s not known if the release of the third season could face any major setbacks as a result.
