The Witcher fans rejoice as Geralt officially returns in new standalone adventure

More Geralt adventures are on the way

Witcher fans rejoice, we are getting a new adventure with Geralt of Rivia and it’s coming soon.

Author Andrzej Sapkowski has announced that he has finished writing a new Geralt adventure. It is due to be a standalone novel surrounding the ongoings of Geralt.

The Witcher returns to Netflix soon with a new animated adventure

The news broke on Twitter to rapturous glee. Very little is known beyond this, although Sapkowski has mentioned in the past that the book will not carry on the ongoing saga, which means we’re more likely to see an offshoot adventure.

In a reel on Instagram, Sapkowski discusses how he has no current plans for the saga and that this recent book took him “maybe two years” to write.

Meanwhile, George R. R. Martin fans are in shambles. This includes me.

Speculation amongst fans ranges from this novel being a prequel of some kind to an anthology-style story that will be shorter than the novels within the saga.

Of course, fans are overjoyed. On Twitter, there are hundreds of comments of glee with everyone eager to see what is in store for Geralt.

“I love that he decided to focus all in on Geralt.” says Twitter user Huff.

While Carminedude says, underneath the announcement, “YOOOOO!!! New Witcher book by the creator himself yes plz.”

If you’ve never read the books, you really should, if you’re a fan of The Witcher. While the games are often very different to the games, many similarities can be found.

If you’re unsure where to start, then grab yourself a copy of The Last Wish. While it was released second, it is the start of the story and the best place to jump on.

After this, you’ll want to read Sword of Destiny. These will get you started and you can work your way on from there.

With eight books in the series, you can easily start now and be caught up for when the new book is released.
