A brand new adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcher series is on its way, and this one is set to focus on Geralt and Ciri’s eventual partnership.
As revealed by Dark Horse over on their official website, a new comic book adaptation of The Witcher story A Question of Price will be released on July 29, 2025 under the same name.
Dark Horse also revealed the synopsis of the upcoming story, which explains how Ciri came to be Geralt’s “child of surprise” prior to the events of the first The Witcher novel.

“Geralt is invited to a banquet at the Kingdom of Cintra. The Princess has come of age and suitors prepare to present themselves for her hand in marriage,” reads the story synopsis.
“Wary of the Queen’s invitation, Geralt attends the dinner with caution. When a mysterious uninvited guest, bearing the armour of a knight enters the hall, a bold declaration and a shocking revelation ignites the party into chaos and uproar.”
It's about time Ciri got her own game.
During the conclusion of A Question of Price’s story, Ciri and Geralt’s partnership and her eventual role as a witcher are revealed (spoilers for A Question of Price from this point onwards).

After defending Princess Pavetta Fiona Elen, granddaughter of Queen Adalia, and her lover Urcheon of Erlenwald (who fans will probably know as Emhyr var Emreis or Duny) during a brawl, Urcheon offers Geralt whatever he desires in return as compensation.
Geralt simply replies, “That which you already have but do not know”, revealing to both Pavetta and Urcheon that the princess is pregnant. They agree to hand the child over to Geralt and have her train to become a witcher, once she is born.
That child would eventually become Ciri, and Geralt’s protege.
Hopefully, we might see the story adapted in video game form in one of CD Projekt RED’s many upcoming The Witcher games, as it was mostly unexplored through the majority of the original trilogy of games.
