We just got an exciting update about the progress of The Witcher 4, courtesy of an earnings call with CD Projekt RED’s higher-ups and their investors.
Thank you in advance to Insider Gaming's Scott Robertson for collating all of the info in their piece!
Thanks to some handy info shared during CD Projekt RED’s investors meeting, we now have some very specific info about The Witcher 4’s development thus far.

The juiciest piece of info actually relates to its release date… or lack thereof.
During the earnings call, CD Projekt RED stated that their “consolidated net profit goals of the motivational program to align top managers goals with the CD Projekt group objectives.”
“Even though we do not plan to release The Witcher 4 by the end of 2026, we are still driven by this financial goal.”
Or, to put it in a less profit-obsessed, jargon-filled way, The Witcher 4 won’t be coming out until 2027 (at the earliest).

CD Projekt’s CFO Piotr Nielubowicz followed this up by stating “the game will not be launched within the time frame of the first target for the incentive program, which ends December 31, 2026."
Alright, well, at least they’re taking their time with it– although that shouldn’t be surprising considering the hiring spree they seem to be on.
The document published after the earnings call had a lot of interesting tidbits in it regarding this. According to the infographics provided, CD Projekt RED has hired more than 50 new developers to work on their current projects.
Out of the 707 developers currently working at CD Projekt RED, 411 of them have been assigned to The Witcher 4. They even specified that they've added 11 new developers to the project since October last year.

It seems it’s all-hands (well, more than 50% of hands) on deck for The Witcher 4 at the moment. Unsurprising given its importance to the publisher, but reassuring nonetheless.
