The Witcher 3 PS5 and Xbox Series X release date finally on the horizon

The launch date for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is about to be announced. Like, literally about to be announced in today's "strategy update" from CD Projekt Group.

I just know there are going to be a statistically suspicious number of people who are off work with a sudden sickness that day. Though the years pass, and more rapidly that I'd like them to, the world of The Witcher 3 is still as captivating as ever. Populated by a fascinating, bizarre and bewitching cast of characters that stand apart from those in every other example of fantasy fiction, you get why fans have been holding on for what might be the most beautiful version of the final chapter of Geralt's story.

The "strategy update" is scheduled for 4:15pm BST, so we are only hours away from having that release date in our hands. Staff at CD Projekt are also sending fans into a fever pitch, signposting the announcement on their own social media accounts. A shadow drop could be completely out of the question, given the amount of work that's been going into The Witcher 3, The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2077, but it would cause utter chaos and I think that's the energy required for a grey Tuesday afternoon.
