The Witcher 3 is already an enormous RPG bursting with things to do, items to find, and characters to meet. But it’s about to get even bigger.
CD Projekt Red is handing over the keys to the kingdom and they expect The Witcher 3 to get even bigger with many expansions and lots of new things to see and do.
The Witcher 3 is due to get bigger with the release of mod tools for the community
With REDkit, fans and creators will now be able to fully mod The Witcher 3 using similar tools as the developers did during the game’s creation. This will give a huge boon to players as we start to see lots of new additions coming down the pipeline.

At the moment, you’ll need to request access to REDkit through Steam if you want to start creating, but many users are reporting being accepted within 24 hours. The only catch to this is that you need to own the game on Steam.
With this addition, creators can start designing new questlines, creatures to slay, and new items or weapons. There’s no limit to what we’ll see in the future and CD Projekt Red is calling this "A Love Letter To The Community."
Given what we see from modding communities for other games we can expect the brilliant to the unconventional. It’s likely a creator will give us new stories or sections from the terrific novels the games are based on, but we’ll likely also see Thomas the Tank Engine make an appearance as he tends to do.
This is likely going to be a very popular change for The Witcher 3 and will essentially give the game a new lease of life on PC bringing back fans and attracting new ones. We’re eager to see what people come up with and, of course, we’ll report on the best mods as soon as they become available.
