Although many would argue that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is one of the best RPG experiences of all time, nothing is perfect and one fan has some ideas on how it can be improved in the next entry.
It has been over 10 years since The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was released and with The Elder Scrolls 6 now in active development, fans have begun speculating as to how the long-awaited sequel can improve on one of the best.

Despite becoming such a classic over the last decade, there is always room for improvement and one fan believes Bethesda can start with an overhaul to the game’s fast travel system.

In r/TESVI, they wrote: “ES6 quests and map needs to be designed around no fast travel; even IF it's an optional toggleable mode for hyper casuals.
What most fast travel defenders deliberately ignore or refuse to understand is that when the designers assume you'll use fast travel for everything, it's not just a matter of "do not use", the entire game design becomes based around you using it.”
They go on to explain how Skyrim is built entirely around relying on fast travel and therefore, the map has poorly designed “spatial awareness”. As a result, travelling to the other side of the map just for the next step of a quest is “unrealistic” and there should be more complex ways to travel such as boat/carriage systems and teleportation.
“You could package no-fast travel with survival features, that are all toggleable off so everyone is satisfied. But the former should be the default and what drives how the map, travel, and quest systems are built,” they finished.

It remains to be seen if The Elder Scrolls 6 will have an improved fast travel system but with the open-world RPG expected to be even bigger than its predecessor, maybe fast travelling won’t be so bad after all.
