Today celebrates the thirteenth anniversary of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim but for many, it is just a reminder of how long we have been waiting for the next TES entry.
It is hard to believe that it has already been six years since The Elder Scrolls 6 was first revealed and even harder to believe that since then, all we have received is a brief teaser trailer.
Check out the very brief teaser trailer for The Elder Scrolls VI below!
With Bethesda keeping its cards close to its chest when it comes to the next entry, it is no surprise that fans are eager for the smallest bit of information.

There is no denying that the studio has big shoes to fill, considering the history-spanning success of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim but according to one fan, we could be getting TES VI a lot sooner than we think.
Posted to r/TESVI a few months back, one user shared the reasons why they believe The Elder Scrolls 6 could be released in 2026.
However, they do kick off their post with a disclaimer.
“I wanna start off by saying that I don’t personally believe that this game will come out in 2026,” they shared.

“If I had to bet money on it I’d say sometime between 2027-2028, but with Bethesda’s recent track record I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets pushed out even further than that.”
Bringing us back down to reality with a bang.
However, they go on to share two major reasons why they believe the game could be released in two years time.
The first is a court document from FTC vs. Microsoft that reveals Bethesda has a project release scheduled for 2026 (or later) so we at least know that 2026 is the minimum.

Additionally, Bethesda has a pattern of releasing games two years after they were originally scheduled to launch.
For example, Starfield and Redfall were scheduled for 2021 but came out in 2023.
That being said, The Elder Scrolls 6 was originally listed for a 2024 release date so by that logic, we could see it some time in 2026.
Of course, this is all rumour and speculation but it is interesting to think about.
