As was suspected, The Boys’ Homelander is coming to Mortal Kombat 1 after all. Set to release on 19 September, Homelander’s inclusion was accidentally revealed on The Boys’ own social media account.

If you don’t watch The Boys already, perhaps you should because this show really is everywhere at the moment. Just yesterday, it was announced that Homelander, Starlight, and Black Noir are coming to Call of Duty: Warzone. They’ll be available as of tomorrow as a part of the ‘Season 4 Reloaded’ update. A spin-off of The Boys, Gen V, is set to start airing soon and promises to be ‘even more shocking’ - and after that, season four of The Boys will arrive (described by cast members as “sick as f**k”). As if that wasn’t enough, we now know that, as rumours indicated, Homelander will also be present in Mortal Kombat 1.

Take a look at the gruesome gameplay trailer for Mortal Kombat 1 below.

Homelander’s inclusion was confirmed over on The Boys’ TikTok account but it appears as if someone perhaps messed up. On the account’s video announcing the Call of Duty crossover news, someone asked about a possible collaboration with Mortal Kombat too. As reported by Dexerto, the official account replied, “MK confirmed.” It then followed up by adding, “Homelander will be available at some point. That’s all we can say.”

The follow-up comment certainly makes it seem as if the original confirmation shouldn’t actually have been said. Still, it’s nice to know that Homelander is now confirmed. We’re yet to get the full base and Kameo roster from NetherRealm but with the game launching in September, we should hear more on that in the next few weeks, I’d imagine.

Over on Reddit, fans were thrilled about the collab. PyrpleForever wrote, “Cool cool, so this means Omni-Man is more probable now,” while ARROW_GAMER added, “Me and the boys on our way to recreate their death battle.” TheLionsblood joked, “Antony Starr realising he’s gonna be in even more memes when modders eventually gain access to his character model in MK1.” So true. The more, the merrier.
