breaking news
Well, this is unexpected news. Call of Duty is no stranger to having its fair share of unlikely crossovers, yet they never fail to take me by surprise. I should know better by this stage than to think of Call of Duty as being a ‘gritty realistic’ franchise. That ship sailed when players started mining King Kong’s balls for XP in Warzone.
In recent weeks, Call of Duty fans have been looking ahead to the franchise’s 2023 release. Official details are non-existent, but that hasn’t stopped leakers from dropping teases. It’s thought that the game will be a follow up to Modern Warfare II, and the latest detail is that it could be set during the Gulf War. A certain presumed-dead antagonist may also be making a comeback which is a juicy possibility. So much of this is still all up in the air though. What I bring you today is something you can enjoy very soon. Call of Duty is crossing over with The Boys.
Take a look at The Boys spin-off Gen V below.
That’s right, several characters from The Boys are coming to Call of Duty. Those characters are seemingly Homelander, Black Noir, and Starlight according to a mysterious video reposted on the official Call of Duty Twitter account. The soundless Black Noir took the stage at a ‘press conference’ where he was asked, “Are the reports that you, Homelander, and Starlight are appearing in Call of Duty true?” Black Noir nods.

“What day will your operators be available?” is asked next, to which Black Noir shrugs. Another reporter asks, “Is there any truth to the rumours about tension between Seven co-captains Homelander and Starlight?” Black Noir then shook his head. Finally, Black Noir is asked, “What’s your favourite weapon to use in-game?” to which he proceeds to showcase his two blades.
Let me provide some clarity. The crossover is a part of Call of Duty: Warzone’s ‘Season 4 Reloaded’ which kicks off on 12 July. I’d imagine we’ll get some more in-depth details very soon.
